Future of Copernicus Missions secured, including CO2M satellites
The European Space Agency (ESA) has announced the fantastic news that important future Copernicus Missions are secured, including three CO2M satellites.
CO2M will image atmospheric CO2 and CH4 distributions with 2 km spatial resolution. ITMS is preparing to use CO2M data on CO2 and CH4 to constrain national greenhouse gas emission estimates. The conceptual basis for CO2M was laid down by ESA, space industry and a team of European scientists, led by the University of Bremen, Institute of Environmental Physics within the CarbonSat initiative.
