Welcome to the ITMS Project

Welcome to the ITMS Project

ITMS (“Integriertes Treibhausgas-Monitoringsystem für Deutschland“ in English as “Integrated Greenhouse Gas Monitoring System for Germany”) is a BMBF (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung)-funded project designed to enable Germany to operationally monitor the sources and sinks of the three most important long-lived greenhouse gases (GHG) CO2, CH4, N2O via independent measurements. The collaborative project will support Data-driven GHG monitoring against "alternative facts" and "fake news" and in the long term result in the establishment of an operational GHG data assimilation service at the DWD (Deutscher Wetterdienst).
